Kotaku is the biggest 360 fanboy on the Internet. I talk about PS3 fanboys all the time here, but at least they're just opinionated individuals. It is sad to see journalists themselves with such bias. I see enough of that on Fox News - why did it have to come to gaming?

The mods/admins don't really police the site. Why would they? N4G earns hundreds of thousands of dollars each year and the vast majority of people here are PS3 fanboys. If they start stamping down on this, the traffic would dry up
Yeah a lot of my friends were surprised at why I decided to buy a different console just for that reason but user functionality and Online is really important for me. I'm a social gamer, I'll buy a good game if most of my friends are playing it online so we can have fun together.

It really could be. I'm usually baffled as to why so many people drool over other racing games because none of them come close in my opinion. GT5 is one of those games I just bought to watch my car on the track, rather than watching the track itself lol
I am firmly in the haters camp in that regard my friend. It forced me to get an Xbox 360 (which I should have bought earlier because I'm loving it), but honestly the only significant firmware update in 2-3 years has been the ability to go into the XMB/read and send messages without quitting the entire game.

I'm a little confused. How well/bad was the PS3 selling in Japan before this? I somehow got the impression that it was actually priced at a reasonable rate, or less expensive it was in comparison to the US and certainly Europe. So are is this boost down to the price cut or a new model?
I'm most pleased for Naughty Dog and Insomniac. I've always felt it was an injustice they they never got the sales they deserved for their games, particularly Reistance 2 (one of the best FPS I've ever played) They deserve to be rewarded so hopefully Uncharted 2 will be considered a flagship franchise by the PlayStation users.

I think this "lack of requirement" possibly relates to Natal, to encourage developers to make Wii-like games with use on the Natal

To be honest with you if the theme is worth it, then it's worth it. $3 is nothing compared to having a new XMB experience to own.
Calling the gamers who didn't like the controls "kiddies" just shows your own immaturity levels, ironically. A gamer wanting to play an arcade racer instead of a simulator isn't any less of a gamer or an individual - yeah it's true although it might be shocking to some of you guys.

I can appreciate some fans wanting to have a bit more challenge in FPS's but to criticise others who want to play video games for fun instead of wanting "realism" in a game is just sad. The frustrating thing was I couldn't adapt to the deadzone which meant whenever I went online and dominated a match or get owned, I never felt joy or anger. It was like the entire match was a fluke and I couldn't enjoy it. What made it stupid was it felt the same when using even a pistol.

While the sales are great, I think we need to be wait and see if this is just a spike or if it is the beginning of a frequent trend. The NPD results and ChartTrack sales charts over the next few months will tell us that.
But with this price point I can see Sony getting into a more stronger stride. Hopefully this translates to software sales because that's where the real profit is for developers
